One of these days I will sit down and actually fill out an About page for myself. Today is not that day.
I can say that this website does go through changes all the time. It is always a testing ground form something new, and it rarely sits still.
In the beginning, I hacked phpBB code into developing the site. I didn’t use any of the forum aspects, I just used it for content management. Weird huh? I came up with the idea after I modding the bajoozies out of a few phpBB forums that I was administrating at the time. I said to myself, sheesh, this thing can be great for plain content management. It had a decent user management system, a way to create pages (topics in forum lingo), easy to use site structuring (forum and sub-forums), and a templating system to that I found simple enough to use that even a caveman could do it.
Integrated into the site was a Blogger account that I had configured for FTP. Blogger no longer provides that service as of this year (2010). It was a strange animal, for I only had the actual post content FTPed to my server. Absent from those file transfers were all HEAD section, sidebars, footers, and every other thing that Blogger could cram in there. On this end, I had a few Php scripts that generated the pages. It all worked rather well. My web design skills looked like crap, but the whole thing purred like a kitten.
